The popularity of the hit neo-western drama seriesGelbstein(2018- ) is mainly due to the authentic representation of the ranching lifestyle.
the jeans ofGelbsteinthey are just as tough and resilient as their real-life counterparts, all thanks to the extensive ranching experience of the show's creator, Taylor Sheridan.
Sheridan not only taught all the actors to ride horses, but even sent them to "cowboy camp" to live alongside real-life cowboys.
With the exception ofkelly reilly, Forrie J. Smith ykevin costner, all the main characters rode into the mountains to live off the land and learn what it takes to be a true cowboy.
To further increase the authenticity of the show, Sheridan also cast a pair of real-life cowboys in recurring roles.
Even if some of them had no acting experience, they all quickly adapted and became the core of the success ofGelbstein.
Forrie J. Smith (Lloyd Pierce)
Lloyd, the ranch butler, has worked at the Yellowstone Ranch for many years. He's also best friends with ranch foreman Rip Wheeler and certainly a fan favorite.
However, the reason Lloyd's character is so popular is the fact that Forrie J. Smith himself grew up on a ranch in Montana. From the age of eight he regularly rode horses and participated in rodeos.
Interestingly, Smith turned to entertainment after falling off a horse. After the incident, he decided to become a stuntman, a career that took him all the way to Hollywood.
According to Smith, it used to be common for rodeo cowboys to become stuntmen:
"Most of the stuntmen in the '50s, especially in westerns, came from the rodeo world. Becoming a cowboy or horseman is a lifelong effort."said (source:Showbiz-Spickzettel).
For the past 20 years, Smith has been performing stunts along with occasional acting appearances until he found them.Gelbstein.

From cowboy to actor

"Taylor put me a little here and a little there," Ream said.stranger. "In season 1 he had me do a rappelling scene that was fun. That was probably the first big scene I ever did. I think there was just a little place for me, for a guy going in and out," she recalled.

Ultimately, however, it was music that brought him fame and success.

Ethan Lee (Ethan)

However, he soon regretted turning down such a good offer and was ready to accept the second time. Initially starting behind the scenes, he was promoted to a cast member at the end of the second season.
